Monday:

Open Mic Night at the Stables!

Where: The Stables Club

When: 8.30 PM for sign-ups, music will start at 9.30 PM

Due to the increased interest in our Open Mic Nights, the sign-up is opening at 8.30 PM. If you want to play make sure you get down as early as you can to get your spot on the list, as it’s a first come first served basis! Free pint if you play!

Tuesday Trad Sessions in the Scholars!

Where: The Scholars Club

When: 9.30 PM

Our weekly trad sessions continue on this week in the Scholars at the normal time of 9.30 PM. So come down and play, or just come for the tunes. Either way, it’s guaranteed that craic will be had!

Promises to be a good one! ULMS members take to the stage to represent UL in one of Limerick city’s most popular venues. The night is growing in popularity due to the work of our DJ’s!

Where: ULSU Room 3

When: 8PM

The lads from ULMS DJ will be back in the ULSU this Wednesday blasting out some awesome tunes, and as a member of ULMS, you can learn how to do it too! Make sure you call in to Room 3 this Wednesday evening and start DJing!

Trad Fest – Trad Session

Where: The Scholars

When: 9:30 PM

This Tuesday we will kick off the ULMS Trad fest in Scholars Club with an almighty session; starting at 9:30. Special guests may include tutors of the Irish World Academy and world renowned Musicians.

Finger food will be provided for all musicians!

Trad Fest – Battle of the Trad Bands

Where: The Stables Courtyard

When: 9:30 PM

Wednesday night we move across to the Stables Courtyard for an intense Battle of the Bands… Only difference here is that this Battle – is a Trad Battle! Bands will battle it out from 9pm. Winners will get to play a 30/45 minute support to the World famous and highly talented band – GOITSE!!

Goitse featuring Céilí and Support Act

Where: The Stables Courtyard

When: 8 PM

Thursday night ULMS Trad Present to you the Finale concert!!! Again we will be in stables courtyard tonight but at the earlier time of 8pm. Outdoor Céilí will will be led by dancers of the Irish World Academy, as well as live music!

The céilí will be quickly followed by support acts including the Winners of the Battle of the Trad Bands! All will be revealed the night beforehand 😀

At 10pm we move onto the final act of the night, last but not at all least we present GOITSE!! Not only was this quintet, formed across the bridge in the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance and unbelievably talented, they were also crowned Live Ireland’s ‘Trad group of the Year’ for 2015 and we are delighted to have them on stage!

Free entry before 9. From 9pm+ Members – €3, Non-Members – €5

ULMS Glee are back learning a new song this Monday over in the Academy! Bound to be a bitta craic, and and they’ll be heading over to the Stables afterwards to take part in the Open Mic night as well!

We would like to both thank the current committee as they have worked incredibly hard this year, and we would also like to invite any student to come sign-up for the positions.
All positions will be up for grabs again so if you’re interested in working with the ULMS Committee make sure to be present for this AGM.

Charity Week at ULMS!

DJ Battle of the Bands
UL DJ society saw some very talented DJ’s give their all in terrific sets in The Orchard last Tuesday. The last qualifying round will take place this Tuesday just before Wankelmut takes to the stage in Crush!
 
Charity Week 2015!
UL Music Society will be providing acts and equipment for many of the events taking place on the Charity Week calendar. As a result, many of our technicians will be busy, and consequently ALL MUSIC ROOM BOOKINGS AND LESSONS will NOT TAKE PLACE during CHARITY WEEK. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. The Open Mic Night, and Deck Sessions will also not be taking place.
Craic’d
UL Trad Society will host Derek Hickey, Liam O’Brien and Alisha McMahon in the Scholars Club from 9-11pm, to raise funds for Charity Week! This will also be a night out for our members, as a casual meet-and-greet so come along, and those who are members and donate will receive a drink voucher!
Busker’s Brawl
At UL Music Society we are very passionate about two things, our musicians and helping others! When Charity Week comes around we always do our best to help out, that’s where the “BUSKERS BRAWL!” comes in!

4 acts will compete in this event over Charity Week to raise the most money for The Stables Club Charity Fund! The winning act will receive a PRIZE from The Stables Club!!

The event will take place from 4-5pm on Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and partaking Buskers will be announced soon!
